This year has been an extraordinary journey of contribution and expansion for the Urban Zen Foundation.
The Urban Zen Foundation has just returned from Haiti where we worked with our partners PRODEV and others to provide 500 children, teachers and volunteers in the community of Cite Soleil with a holiday experience. Our Executive Director, Marni Lewis, took part in the festivities passing out presents, dancing and celebrating with the teachers and community pastor, and playing soccer with the children, their favorite activity. Their laughter and their joy reminded us of why our foundation is committed to this beautiful country and its people.
Please join us in celebrating the milestones from all our programs in 2016.
Our commitments in Haiti truly represent our mission in the areas of preservation of culture, health, and education. We expanded our D.O.T program, continued our Art Program, launched a wellness yoga initiative with Sow A Seed, and acted immediately to provide relief in the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew.
Our partnerships have continued to grow, with ongoing care at Southampton Hospital, CareRite Centers, The Ohio State University Medical Center, Wexner Heritage Village, and UCLA Health. We’ve also had several new areas of exposure - Addiction Treatment, Memory Care, Maternal/Infant Wellness and Trauma-Informed Care.
