Yesterday afternoon, the Urban Zen Foundation was thrilled to open our doors for an incredibly important conversation on sustainable wellness with some of the most advanced physicians in the field: Dr. Frank Lipman, Dr. Jeff Bland, Dr. Mark Hyman and Dr. Bob Rountree.
Guests of the event took refuge from the rainy Sunday afternoon in the beautifully welcoming Stephan Weiss Studio where organic teas, chocolate, cookies and juices awaited them. The conversation immediately launched into the world of functional medicine, which as Dr. Mark Hyman said, “is all about connecting the dots.”
The depth and relevance of topics covered spoke to how necessary the integration of functional medicine is to the improvement of our current health care system. Each physician brought personal and professional experience to the conversation, making for a riveting dialogue that captured just how cutting edge this new sustainable wellness research really is.
The interest in the subject matter was made abundantly clear during the question and answer period. Guests were eager to ask their questions and share their experiences as patients, health care professionals and invested citizens. It was clear that they took to heart the advice of Dr. Rountree when he said that “we have to reclaim our health as a human right.”
We were absolutely invigorated by the whole experience and are delighted to share with you that this was just the first in our series on sustainable wellness. We invite you to keep checking out our events page for upcoming conversations with Dr. Frank Lipman, Dr. Christiane Northrup, Kris Carr and Arianna Huffington.
Until then we leave with the encouraging words of Dr. Jeff Bland, “The future of medicine is all about empowerment.”
